Definition: Measures the mean distance (rail car miles) between mechanical failures reportable to National Transit Database, i.e., those precluding a rail car from completing its trip or starting its next scheduled trip.
Performance (June 2024):
Rail mean distance between failures (MDBF) was 15,734 in June 2024, which did not meet the target of 23,000 or more miles.
