Definition: Bus Cost per Passenger Trip measures operating cost of providing bus service per unlinked passenger boarding.

 

Performance (December 2023):

The Cost per Bus Passenger Trip of $9.66 in December exceeded the forecast by $0.86. This unfavorable variance was due to operating expenses coming in over budget. The 2024 Fiscal Year-to-Date (months of July through December) Cost per Bus Passenger Trip exceeded the forecast by $0.55. This unfavorable variance was due to bus ridership falling short of the forecast by 0.6 million unlinked passenger trips and operating expenses coming in over budget.
